Hello friends! I hope you’re all doing wonderfully on this fine Friday morning. It’s been a long week for me, filled with two (yes two!) concerts and a midterm. But alas, now it’s Friday and I am set free for the weekend! Can we get a hip hip hooray?

I’ve been in a bit of an outfit slump lately. Or maybe it should be more accurately called a life slump. My hair is way too long, my skin is hating me and my clothes just seem so drab and unexciting. I think I always fall into this attitude around this time every year. I blame it on Edmonton’s six month winters. By the end of them, I’m just so sick of winter and the snow and I’m ready to start pulling out my crop tops and shorts.

However, since summer is still far away, I was forced to pick out a cold weather-approved outfit. This one consisted of a knit turtleneck sweater from the Bay. I have this weird obsession with tops that have zippers on the side. I’m not sure why, they have absolutely no function, but yet, they’re so intriguing! Underneath I layered a chambray shirt that I thought I had no use for anymore. I’m so glad I didn’t throw it away!

I got a new pair of boots. When am I going to stop buying booties? Can’t stop, won’t stop. I thought these ones were so cute! And to make things slightly better, I had a 40% off coupon on one full priced item at Forever 21 so these boots were quite cheap. So you guys should probably sign up for Forever 21 emails to get discounts like these! Let’s all be bargain hunters together hurrah!

Puppy’s First Roadtrip

1-IMG_3524 1-IMG_3574 1-IMG_3599 1-IMG_3605 1-IMG_3612 1-IMG_3615 1-IMG_3641 1-IMG_3651 1-IMG_3658 1-IMG_3677 1-IMG_3681 1-IMG_3704 1-IMG_3708 1-IMG_3720

Ever since we got Oakley two years ago, we have never been on a road trip. He’s a bit of a handful so we didn’t think he would do so well travelling in a car. But like any dog, Oakley absolutely loves people and walks and nature and car rides so we decided to take one final trip before school started up again.

First stop was Lake Louise. It was crawling with tourists who were all way too excited to see Oakley. Eighteen people (yes we counted) asked to take a picture with him. Zero people asked to take a picture with me. It’s alright. Oakley was so excited to see canoes in the water. He wanted to join them.

Now, on to the outfit. I am wearing one of my favorite new t-shirts. I recently picked it up on sale from Zara. I didn’t even try it on, I just saw it and bought it. I love graphic tees, you can never have too many! And ‘AGGGGHHHH’ just seems to sum up my life lately. I also really love the pants I’m wearing today. I have such a special place in my heart for printed jeans.

The name necklace I’m wearing today is from 9th and Elm. 9th and Elm is a marketplace featuring products from independent and handmade designers. I am obsessed with this necklace. Is it narcissistic to wear a necklace with your own name on it? Maybe. But it’s super cute so we’ll just ignore that.

Downward Dog

When you’re in Downward Dog, you don’t want things to go downhill. That’s why you need Playtex tampons.

I’m not going to lie, I am not the most athletic person in the world. However, I have danced my entire life and I do like to stay active. One of my favorite ways to stay active is yoga. It doesn’t make my body feel like it’s going to fall apart, yet I still break a sweat and feel like I’m actually do something worthwhile for my health.

With me being the lil’ fashionista that y’all know I am, I like to do yoga in ultimate style. That includes a coordinating outfit, yoga mat, and water bottle. I really like the color purple, can’t you tell? But I also need to feel my best when stretching out into uncomfortable positions, even when it’s that time of the month ahem. To help me out with that, I find the Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons are my best friend in controlling everything down there. It’s important to stay active even when you have your period. Plus, exercising can help to reduce those lovely cramps that really aren’t so lovely.

Now since we are already on the awkward topic of periods, let’s not stop yet! These Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons feature a patented OdorShield technology that helps neutralize odours as well as a light fragrance to give off a fresh, clean scent. Playtex fits your life and body so you can “Play On”.

My legs are white

Before you notice how white my legs are, let’s just appreciate that I can finally wear skirts now without freezing. But yes, I am working on getting my legs to a normal color. (Hello self-tanning).

This outfit basically revolves all around Oakley. How cute does he look today? Very cute. I’m wearing a Roxy lace jacket (buy here) from Mad Monkey Clothing. Underneath, I wore a plain olive green crop top from American Eagle, paired with a black high low skirt from Forever 21. As for shoes, they are really comfy flats from Reneu. My outfit was pretty simple so I went a bit overboard on the jewelry. My necklaces are from my grandma. When she passed away when I was six, she left me a large part of her jewelry collection. I was thinking about it today and I think that’s what made me so obsessed with jewelry. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I rarely leave the house without jewelry and I think receiving her jewelry at such a young age has a lot to do with that. My rings are all from Noul and Oak and Fort. As for arm candy, my watch is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Amy watch and I’m obviously wearing my Pandora bracelet (when am I not?). My earrings are from Foxy which are sold at Shopper’s Drug Mart. All the Foxy Jewelry is 60% off at Shoppers right now, so you should probably stop by.

So yes, that’s my outfit for today. Let’s give the weather a round of applause for cooperating today.

Spring is Coming

I know this scenery doesn’t look exactly Spring-y, but after the longest Winter ever, this is as Spring as it’s going to get! The high was +7 degrees (Celsius obvs.) so I couldn’t wait to bring out my fun spring clothes! No more dark colors for me!

These pants are the epitome of Spring. They are such a fun floral print and they make me so happy! I paired them with one of my favorite tops from Vero Moda with a lace neckline and a flowy chiffon fabric. It was still a bit chilly so I added a long blue cardigan and wore some grey flats. I am so excited to start wearing flats again! I’ve been a bit bored with booties.

I kept my accessories very Spring-like with this bangle from Accessory  Mercado. It brings out the colors in the pants with the fun green and turquoise design. For earrings, I wore these daisy studs from Majestical Jewelry. What is Spring without florals?
